In a very clear violation of ethical and judicial rules, Ziegler presided over cases involving West Bend Savings Bank while her husband sat on the Bank’s board. In the cases involving her husband's bank, Ziegler ruled in favor of West Bend Savings
Bank with well over $100,000 in cash settlements, home foreclosures and seized vehicles. Ziegler has also received more than $3-million in loans from the bank, including a $2 million loan during her campaign for Wisconsin’s highest court. The Ziegler’s also rented real estate to the bank and took out very sizeable loans from them while also hearing their cases in court. She presided over at least 45 cases involving West Bend Savings Bank without either recusing herself or at least notifying the parties of the conflict, as required by law.
